Taiwan's offshore wind power has gone through a process of establishment from scratch since 2012. 2013, the government announced that the environmental assessment of the demonstration wind farm had been passed, and then in 2014, the consulting company 4C offshore announced that the Taiwan Strait has 16 of the world's 20 best wind farms. As a result, many foreign companies, including Denmark, Germany, Japan, etc., came to invest in Taiwan. In 2016, the first offshore wind turbine was officially transferred to commercial operation, and then in 2018, the second phase of the wind farm was opened for bidding, and in 2019, the first offshore wind farm in Taiwan was completed. In mid-2022, Taiwan's offshore wind power reached the milestone of 100 wind turbines.
