1. AI/MLTechnology in medical technology and medical devices to assist diagnosis and alerts, and digital health monitoring benefits significantly prominent, and the formation of pan-medical equipment standard, AI / ML-assisted diagnosis and treatment has become a new competition in the medical device market overtaking the track.

• From the perspective of three major trends, the rapid development of AI/ML application in medical devices, (1) the cumulative number of US FDA-approved AI/ML-embedded medical devices continues to rise, and as of October 2023, US FDA has approved 692 AI/ML-assisted medical devices; (2) the 2023 CES digital wearable devices are fully utilized in the application of AI, which is becoming a standard configuration for new-generation medical devices and innovative digital health devices; and (3) in recent years, acquisitions by international medical manufacturers have placed more emphasis on AI/ML-assisted diagnostic content, which has made AI/ML a standard configuration for the new generation of medical devices and innovative digital health devices. • 有別過去醫療器械設備，除了朝向可攜式或可穿戴化、輕量化和成本平價化發展外，現今為因應在醫院、緊急診所或居家護理診療使用情境，醫療設備正在朝向實行場域去中心化(居家或無場域限制)、智慧化(數字化、AI/ML化)和整合化發展趨勢來打造個人化醫療服務，以AI /ML賦能醫療設備結合連續性數位診療記錄、電子病歷、數據資料庫或警報系統，來幫助醫療專業人員來監控並評估病患狀況，並可提供醫師無法執行的密集輔助診斷，讓醫師任務與智慧醫療系統無縫接軌。2024年醫療器械設備搭載遠距和智能AI /ML正在持續延伸跨度醫療保健市場領域，且新商業模式有望改變醫療保健市場遊戲規則。

3. 基因數據(基因定序技術)平價化和應用普及性，以及基因檢測在關聯疾病應用於診斷價值的準確度提升，將促使多項癌症早篩和非癌症疾病基因診斷等新領域的商業價值提升。

• 隨著NGS基因定序技術的不斷創新，2023年基因定序檢測時間已從過去1-4天，大幅縮短為幾小時，且檢測成本也從1000美元再降為100美元。基因定序應用商業價值可來自治療型基因檢測和癌症早篩，治療前透過癌症基因檢測(藥物伴隨式診斷)，找出癌症變異基因(癌症形成兩大主因:基因變異和免疫逃脫)之後，再選擇適合該基因型的藥物，就能精準狙擊癌細胞; 癌症早篩的目的不是降低癌症發病率，而是提早發現癌症病變，降低癌症死亡率，大部分癌症患者如肺癌、肝癌、胰腺癌、小腸癌和胃癌，其早期症狀都不明顯且個案難以自我察覺，臨床確診時已在癌症中晚期，多數癌症仍尚無有效的早篩方案且有待開發核准，目前僅乳腺癌、子宮頸癌和結直腸癌具有臨床推薦的早篩方案，2024年在尚無有效癌症早篩和非癌症相關疾病的基因診斷方案將是市場關注發展焦點。

4. 再生醫療風起雲湧下，細胞治療技術持續在人體臨床試驗中乘風破浪，在各別領域中伺機突圍

• 再生醫療是利用細胞來製成藥品，或利用細胞製作身體組織器官來治癒疾病，並從醫療技術和新藥開發雙軌道走向臨床疾病的應用，在幹細胞療法領域，以造血幹細胞療法和間質幹細胞療法具備發展亮點;在免疫細胞療法被寄予消滅癌症厚望，在腫瘤臨床治療中已經體現出顯著療效;在組織細胞修復療法，細胞層片具顯著療效，雖然細胞治療領域正在不斷發展，但目前的方法受到所用細胞的安全性、一致性和可靠性以及分化和擴增所需時間的限制，預期2024年將是細胞療法發展重新審視且留強汰弱的一年。

5. 治療性基因編輯技術(CRISPR/Cas9)新藥的核准和問世，將打開以基因編輯技術開發疾病治療新療法的劃時代盛世

• 隨著2023年年底治療鐮狀細胞疾病(鐮狀細胞貧血症)Vertex 和 CRISPR Therapeutics的Casgevy^TM以及bluebird bio 的 Lyfgenia^TM兩種基因療法的問世，除象徵以細胞為基礎的基因治療持續創新進步外，其中Casgevy^TM更是美國FDA首個核准利用新型基因編輯技術(CRISPR/Cas9)的療法，基因編輯技術新藥(CRISPR-based medicine)的核准和問世，無疑將掀起以基因編輯技術作為細胞基因療法的新藥開發淘金熱，預期2024年將開啟更多以基因編輯技術進行新藥開發的臨床試驗熱潮，以及更多針對遺傳性疾病的基因療法可能被批准。
